Official Holidays in the Philippines 2021

Wednesday, December 8, is a special non-working holiday as Catholics celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary.

Proclamation 986 signed by President Rodrigo Duterte lists the following dates as regular holidays and special non-working days for the year 2021:

The President issues separate proclamations declaring national holidays for the observance of Eid’l Fitr, the end of the month-long Ramadan, and Eid’l Adha, the Feast of the Sacrifice, after the dates of these Islamic holidays are determined in accordance with the Islamic calendar or the lunar calendar.

In 2021, EID was celebrated as a regular holiday on May 13.

Eid’l Adha was set as a holiday for July 20, 2021.

Labor laws require employers to grant additional pay for employees tasked to render hours of work on regular holidays and special non-working holidays.

SCHOOL YEAR

School year 2021-2022 will consist of 209 school days.

It will begin on September 13, 2021, and terminate on June 24, 2022.

Regular enrollment period will start on August 16 until September 13, 2021.

Christmas break will be from December 20 until January 3, 2022.

The 209 school days shall be inclusive of Saturdays and the five-day midyear break.
