Would like to message to improve.
Maybe one of those local dialects
Which is more accurate, “kamusta”, or “kumusta”? From what i have read before, this word came from the Spanish “como esta”. Thanks!
How do you say little sister?
“nakababatang kapatid na babae”, but no one really uses that on a casual basis bc it sounds formal, so it’s usually just “kapatid” (sibling)
Nene is still appropriate here in Pagsanjan.

My husband has asked me to make a hand made 70th birthday card for a very special Filipino male friend whom he has known for over 30 years. My husband is Canadian caucasian and these 2 guys are like brothers. My husband Dan, greets Pablo as his “brother, from a different mother”. I would like to put this phrase inside this card in Tagalog, but don’t know how to write it. Dan understands some Tagalog. Can someone send me a translation please? I already have the Tagalog saying for Happy Birthday. Much thanks and looking forward to a quick reply.
“Aking kapatid pero mula sa ibang nanay/ina.” My brother but from a different mother.
“Kapatid ko mula sa ibang ina.” same thing, less formal
If Pablo us older, you can use “kuya” which means older brother instead of “kapatid” which means sibling
We just say, Kapatid sa ama.
Maligayang 70th na kaarawan sa iyo Mina mahal Kong kapatid
It’s very helpfull and i love to know Filipino language. All I can say is salamat
And I wish I can get more Filipino friends
Besides this useful site another way to learn tagalog is texting. Find someone who knows tagalog and text with them. It helped me !

Hello 🙂
Kumusta ka na Hamelin. Just call me Kuya or Kuya Leo because I am thinking that I am older than u mas matanda ako or may mas may edad ako sa iyo. Your name is Hamelin ang pangalan mo ay Hamelin that why it is obvious that you are a girl kaya sa palagay ko ikaw ay isang babae. Tama ba ako? Do I am right?

Maybe wrong spelling.. We don’t have such word..
I’ve never seen that word. Seriously, it doesn’t even look like something that I would relate to the Pilipines.
