Carlyle Nuera is the lead designer for Barbie Signature at Mattel. He is a 2010 graduate of the Otis College of Art and Design.
Nuera’s debut design was that of the Filipina Barbie doll known as Mutya Barbie, which recalls the glamor of old-school Filipino beauty pageants. It was released by Mattel as part of the brand’s Global Glamour Collection. The design was inspired by Nuera’s heritage and his family.

NEWS: Arnold Berdon was arrested on November 20 (Tuesday) on suspicion of attempted murder. His wife, UFC fighter Rachael Ostovich, had obtained a restraining order against him on Monday, after he allegedly hit her in the face and in the ribs multiple times; the bone of her eyesocket was fractured.
In the restraining order, Ostovich said she had to escape through the balcony of their home after the attack Sunday morning. She claims it was not his first attack; he had also hurt her in May. Berdon will have a court hearing on Wednesday.
