Sinturis is a Filipino word for the citrus fruit known widely by the name dalanghita. The term is used mostly in Batangas province.
The scientific name of sinturis is Citrus nobilis.
Dalanghita is frequently exchanged with the name of another citrus fruit called Dalandan, which properly has the scientific name Citrus aurantium. Barely anyone in the Philippines makes the distinction. Ask any person on the street and they’ll say it’s just a regional linguistic preference.
The word sinturis, however, is not familiar to Filipinos outside the CALABARZON region.
Spelling variations: sintonis, sintunes

Etymology: Spanish citrones
