Retired major general in the United States Army.

Family moved to the US state of Hawaii when he was 11.

Famous for the Taguba Report, an internal U.S. Army report issued in 2004 detailing the abuse or Iraqis perpetuated by American soldiers at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq the previous year. The report had been

Education

Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Idaho State University in 1972

Graduated from the Armor Officer Basic and Advanced Course (AOBAC), the Army Command and General Staff College, the College of Naval Command and Staff, and the Army War College.

Three master’s degrees: Public administration at Webster University (St. Louis, Missouri), international relations from Salve Regina College (Newport, Rhode Island), national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College (NWC or NAVWARCOL in Newport, Rhode Island).

Recent News:

In 2008, Major General Antonio Taguba wrote the preface to a report by Physicians for Human Rights on prisoner abuse and torture at Abu Ghraib prison, in Guantanamo Bay, and in Afghanistan. “There is no longer any doubt that the [Bush] administration committed war crimes. The only question is whether those who ordered torture will be held to account.” In 2009, Major General Antonio Taguba confirmed the existence of photos that  “show torture, abuse, rape and every indecency” beyond those in images previously released to the public.
