A related word is banlaw, although banlaw is more like the overall process of rinsing, such as rinsing a lot of soaped-up laundry in clear water, whereas luglog is more like briefly immersing a small amount of things in water, shaking them, and then pulling them up out of the liquid, such as you would do to noodles.
In fact, the moniker for the dish called pancit luglug comes from this word. The noodles are quickly dipped in boiling broth for about three seconds. Luglug is the spelling in the language of Pampanga province where this dish has iconic status.
