This is a very informal shortening of the phrase”Wala akong pake” (I don’t give a heck), which in turn is short for the standard sentence “Wala akong pakialam” (I don’t care. None of my business.)
Lakompake! is also the title of a book written by the social-media persona known as “Senyora,” a very rich woman who looks down on everyone else as the equivalent of her slaves. Her Facebook page has more than 2.7 million fans and her Twitter account has 3.37 million followers.
The Philippine persona is based on the character of Angelica Santibañez, the kontrabida (antagonist; villainess) in the Mexican telenovela Marimar, which was hugely popular in the Philippines.
