BALUGA

The word baluga is a term used to refer to the Aetas, the curly-haired, very dark-skinned indigenous peoples of the Philippines who are related more to the native tribes of Papua New Guinea who bear a closer physical resemblance to a few African groups than to the brown Malayans of Southeast Asia.

Often used in a derogatory sense, this word should not be heard in polite conversation!

    1. A long time ago, me, my sister and my yaya went to my YaYa’s home. They were calling my sister baluga because she’s half black, they were throwing rocks too. My sister was just an innocent child, and those poor people have the audacity to treat someone disrespectfully just because of her looks 🤦‍♀️ their attitude is the reason why they’re in poverty today.
