Situated on a hill in the province of Rizal, Antipolo is a small town about forty-five minutes away from the city of Manila. In this town is found the religious shrine of Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, popularly known as the Virgin of Antipolo. It is to this Image of the Blessed Virgin that yearly pilgrimages are made during the summer.
The history of the three-centuries old image is replete with manifestations of the supernatural, so much so that it captures the inherently imaginative minds of the Filipinos.
