This is the title of a Filipino novel whose main characters are three sisters who share the first name Maria. The novel is notable for having been made into a movie during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines.

The Story
Maria Fe and Maria Esperanza are full sisters, while Maria Caridad is only a half-sister, having the same father as the two.
The mother of the two Maria’s has passed away. Donya Pilar is the mother of Caridad.
Caridad is supposed to be married to Andres. Fe and Esperanza are against it, and the two sisters bring Caridad to Manila where they introduce her to a wealthy man.
Andres arrives in Manila to tell Caridad that her mother is close to passing away. Caridad returns home to the province. Before dying, Donya Pilar manages to get Caridad and Andres married.
The movie starred Carmen Rosales and Fernando Poe.
