QUILT

This English term can be transliterated into Tagalog as kwilt.

A quilt is a coverlet or blanket made of two layers of fabric with a layer of cotton, wool, feathers, or down in between, all stitched firmly together, usually in a decorative design.

Quilts are not that common in the Philippines because of the tropical weather. The widely used word for “blanket” is kúmot. Most blankets in the Philippines are nowhere near as thick as they regularly are in cold-weather countries.
