POSTURYOSO

This word has its origins in the Spanish language.

pós·tur·yó·so
having the attitude of dressing to impress

This has a slightly more negative connotation in Tagalog than one would expect from the English translation. This is because humility is paramount in Filipino culture — so anyone who is posturyoso is seen as “posturing” or behaving in a way that puts himself/herself as better than others.

spelling variation: pustoryoso

rare female variation: postoryosa, pustoryosa

KAHULUGAN SA TAGALOG

pósturyóso: mahilig magbihis nang labis sa kailangan
