Rappler is a foreigner-funded tabloid site whose raison d’etre is to malign the democratically elected Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte. In January 2018, its license to operate was revoked after evidence was presented that editorial control was under a foreign entity — a clear violation of the country’s Constitution.
