Spelling variations: pompiyang, pompyang, ompiyang
This is a mini-game used to determine who will be the “it” in a game or to determine which persons will belong to different teams (two teams).
BASICS OF OMPYANG
Players huddle in a circle and each place one hand in the middle. At the vocal signal of one person, the players are expected to quickly turn their hand either face up or face down.
HOW TO USE OMPYANG IN DETERMINING ONE “IT” PLAYER
If all but one of the players turn their palms up, the only player with palm down is declared the it. (Or vice versa… If all but one player have their palms down, the only player with palm up is declared the it.)
HOW TO USE OMPYANG IN DETERMINING TEAMS
All the players who turned their palms up will be on one team. All the players who turned their palms down will be on the opposing team.
HOW DO THE CHEATERS CHEAT IN OMPYANG
They turn their palms slowly to give themselves time to see how the others are turning their palms.
