This is a transliteration into Tagalog of the English word “all.”
You can frequently come across it on social media in the phrase “Sana OL” and the hashtag #sanaol.
It literally means “I wish all” or “How I wish it were everybody.”
Sana ol.
This is used to lightheartedly express envy, jealousy or even admiration, in the sense that you wish that it wasn’t only others who have or are enjoying something.
The expression can be further shortened as Na ol.
For the record, the Tagalog word for “all” is lahat.
Jimiel Numoc came out with a song titled “Sana OL” in May 2020.
