María Isabel Preysler Arrastia (born 18 February 1951 in Manila, Philippines) is known worldwide as the mother of singer Enrique Iglesias.
Her current partner is acclaimed Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa.
It was at the age of 16 that she migrated to Madrid, Spain. Preysler began working as a journalist for Spanish celebrity-news magazine ¡Hola! in 1970, and her first interviewee was her future husband Julio Iglesias. They divorced in 1979.
