HOMICIDE

This English term can be transliterated into Tagalog as hómisáyd.


Homicide is the killing of one human being by another. It is a general term that may refer to a non-criminal act as well as the criminal act of murder.

Homicides can be divided into many overlapping legal categories, such as murder, manslaughter, justifiable homicide, assassination, killing in war, euthanasia, and capital punishment, depending on the circumstances of the death.

Criminal homicides are divided into two broad categories — murder and manslaughter, based upon the state of mind and intent of the person who commits the homicide.
