A cactus-like plant with the scientific name Nopalea cochinellifera. Americans call it prickly pear, while Spanish speakers call it nopal(es).


Dila-dila is a shared common name by different species of plants, among them the plant with the scientific name Elephantopus scaber.

The tongue-shaped rice and coconut patty known as palitaw is also sometimes called dila-dila because of its shape.
