Minutes after clocking out from her night shift as a telephone operator at the Marriott Hotel in San Francisco’s Union Square, Corazon Dandan was waiting at BART’s Powell Street Station for a train that would take her home to Daly City.
At 11:06 p.m., a person who police described as homeless allegedly shoved Dandan into the oncoming train. She hit her head on the train.
BART police quickly responded and arrested the alleged assailant, Trevor Belmont, who was booked into jail Tuesday morning on charges of murder and elder abuse.
Paramedics took Dandan to San Francisco General Hospital, where she died.
