In early October 2017, Newsweek made the unforgivable mistake of getting Marilou Bustos Danley mixed up with a Marilou Virata Bustos, the latter turning out to be from Latin America. The online newsmagazine published a story accusing Marilou Donley of bigamy and illegally using two different Social Security numbers when they conflated the public records of the two women.
No word yet from Marilou Donley’s lawyer as to whether she will sue the magazine for defamation.
