ENGLISH TRANSLATION
It was reported in the last days of April that Brian Moshayedi was arrested by police based on an allegation of murder. This happened in the city of Los Angeles. His bail was set at a million dollars.
Notwithstanding, the office of the Los Angeles County’s District Attorney decided to charge Brian Moshayedi with attempted murder and add three other criminal counts.
It goes without saying that attempted murder is a felony. It is a serious crime that should be punishable by jail time.
The arraignment happened on May 22nd, and the date of the preliminary hearing in this case will be known in August.
Many Americans believe that the rich and the poor are equal under the law. This is one of their delusions.
- Note that in many jurisdictions in the United States, the fee one pays to a bondsman for the release of a defendant is 10% of the total bail amount. For example, if the bail was set at $1,000,000, one would pay $100,000 to the bondsman. This is unrefundable.
