This is not that common a word in modern Tagalog.

balutì sa dibdib
armor for the chest
= breastplaste

balutì sa kamay at bisig
armor for the hand and arm
= gauntlet

Centuries ago, the following definitions for the English word “mail” were more common:

1. armor made of metal links or sometimes plates
2. a hard enclosing covering of an animal (such as a tortoise)

MGA KAHULUGAN SA TAGALOG

balutì: armor, kutamaya, aksiw

balutì: anumang kasuotang pansanggalang sa katawan

balutì: anumang kasuotang pansanggalang sa katawan

balutì: kutamaya, aksiw

nagbaluti: nagsuot ng balutì
