Tagaytay is also the name of a city in the province of Cavite, 35 miles from Manila on the large island of Luzon. It is famous for having a good view of Taal Volcano, an active volcano that is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire.
Filipino tourists visit Tagaytay for its cool climate, which is due to its high altitude. In fact, it is called the second summer capital of the Philippines, second only to the city of Baguio, which is farther from the capital and less accessible.
