The Sandugo was a blood compact performed in the island of Bohol in the Philippines, between the Spanish explorer Miguel López de Legazpi and the Bohol chieftain Datu Sikatuna, on March 16, 1565. It was done to seal their friendship as part of tribal tradition. It is considered the first treaty of friendship between the Spaniards and Filipinos.
Tagbilaran City on the island of Bohol has an annual Sandugo Festival that is a historical celebration commemorating the Treaty of Friendship between Datu Sikatuna and Miguel López de Legazpi.
There are also various organizations that have SANDUGO as a name. And there is even a footwear brand called Sandugo Sandals.
