RORO

The term RORO or ro-ro is short for Roll-on/Roll-off, which refers to ferries or ships that carry wheeled cargo, such as cars and trucks that are driven on and off the ship on their own wheels.

Whenever there’s a typhoon passing the country, you’ll hear it in the news how many people, ships, motorbancas, and roros have been stranded, according to the Coast Guard.

Roll-on/roll-off (RORO or ro-ro) ships are vessels designed to carry wheeled cargo, such as cars, trucks, semi-trailer trucks, trailers, and railroad cars, that are driven on and off the ship on their own wheels or using a platform vehicle, such as a self-propelled modular transporter.
