Philippine National Security
* As of July 2009 when this post was originally written, it was the consensus of international geopolitical experts that the Philippines faced no major external threat. Since then however, China has been presented as a national bugaboo for reasons of which the general populace are unaware. President Rodgrigo Duterte, elected in May 2016, appears to be attempting to his best to rectify the situation, which is untenable for the nation in the long term considering its place in history, culture, and geography.
