Panagbenga is an annual flower festival celebrated in Baguio City every February.
The term “Panagbenga” comes from a Kankanaey term meaning “season of blooming.” This festival reflects the history, traditions and values of Baguio and the Cordilleras.
In the year 2019, the festival runs from February 1st to March 19th. The opening parade is February 1st, Friday; it will showcase floral floats and native dances.
Theme: “Blooming Forward”
Classes for elementary and secondary students in both public and private schools are expected to be suspended on the grand opening day of the 2019 Panagbenga Festival. This is because the parade also serves as the elimination round for contestants participating in festival contests.
