President Rodrigo Duterte declared September 12, 2016 (Monday) a regular national holiday in observance of the Muslim celebration of Eid’l Adha.
Citing Republic Act 9849. the Palace said the country recognizes Eid’l Adha or Feast of Sacrifice as one of the two greatest feasts of Islam.
Eid’l Adha commemorates Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son, Ishmael, in obedience to the order of Allah.
November 2 is not a holiday, despite it being All Souls’ Day. That’s partly due to the fact that October 29, 30 and 31 were Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Then there was Tuesday, which was a holiday. So that’s four consecutive days off already.
