Nabasag Ang Banga, Lyrics

This is a song from the sarswela Dalagang Bukid (1919) made famous by National Artist Atang de la Rama.  Music by Leon Ignacio. Lyrics by Hermogenes Ilagan.

Repeat CHORUS

Overdrive by Eraserheads, Video

 ORIGINAL TAGALOG LYRICS

Magda-drive ako hanggang  Baguio
Magda-drive ako hanggang Bicol
Magda-drive ako hanggang  Batangas
Tapos magsu-swimming doon sa beach

Isasama ko ang girlfriend ko
Isasama ko kahit sinong may gusto
Kahit may kasama siyang aso
Basta’t meron siyang baong sariling buto

Magdadala ako ng pagkain
Burger, fries, tapsilog at siopao

Magda-drive ako hanggang Visayas
Magda-drive ako hanggang sa Mindanao

Magda-drive ako buong taon
Magda-drive ako habambuhay
Magda-drive ako hanggang buwan
Please, please lang
turuan n’yo akong mag-drive

Gusto kong matutong mag-drive
(kahit na wala akong kotse)
Gusto kong matutong mag-drive
(kahit na walang lisensya)
Mag-drive, drive, drive…
Mag-drayb… Magdrayb… Magdrive…

FREE ENGLISH TRANSLATION

I’ll drive till Baguio
I’ll drive till Bicol
I’ll drive till Batangas
Then swim at the beach there

I’ll bring my girlfriend
I’ll bring whoever wants
Even if with a dog
As long as it brings its own bone

I’ll bring food
Burger, fries, tapsilog, steamed buns

I’ll drive till Visayas
I’ll drive till Mindanao

I’ll drive the whole year
I’ll drive forever
I’ll drive to the moon
Please, just please
teach me how to drive

I want to learn how to drive
(though without a car)
I want to learn how to drive
(though without a license)
To drive, drive, drive..
To drive… To drive… To drive…

Wherever you are, let’s go
One thousand and one laughs
The whole country… Eat Bulaga!

America The Beautiful – Coke’s Tagalog Translation

  ORIGINAL ENGLISH LYRICS

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountains’ majesty
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee

 COCA-COLA’S TAGALOG LYRICS

O kay ganda, langit mo’y bughaw
Makulay mong palay
 Matayog na kabundukan
Sa ibabaw ng mga prutas
America, America, pinagpala ka ng Diyos.
Biyaya mo’y hinahandog sa sandaigdigan.
