MERON

The Tagalog word meron is  a shortened version of mayroón.

It means “there is…” or “to have…”

Meron akong sikreto.
I have a secret.

Meron sila.
They have.

Meron silang kotse.
They have a car.

Merong problema.
There’s a problem.

Merng mali.
There’s a mistake.

Merong tao doon.
There’s somebody there.

Meron ka bang pera?
Do you have money?

Meron ka ba?
Do you have (some of it)?
Also, slang for “Is it your menstrual period?”

Meron ako.
I have.

(Women also use this phrase as a euphemism for when it’s their menstrual period.)
