KINDERGARTEN

This English word is from the German language.

Kindergarten, literally meaning “children’s garden”, is the first stage in the move from home to formal education. Children learn through play.

In most countries kindergarten is part of the pre-school system. In North America, kindergarten is the first year of school. Kindergarten children are usually between three and seven years of age.

Kindergarten ages vary from country to country. Sometimes, children go to pre-kindergarten for a year, before they go to kindergarten.

In the Philippines, the first “school” experience of children may be a nursery school, usually for those between the ages of three and five, who are not old enough to attend kindergarten.

Dapat ituro ito sa mga bata mula pa sa kinder.
This should be taught to kids from as early as kindergarten.
