Sometimes spelled ibus.
Ibos is buri palm, a tree from the family Arecaceae.

The leaves are used in wrapping food such as suman and in making palaspas for Palm Sunday.
Filipinos usually translate this word into English simply as “coconut leaves.” The coconut is a palm of the same family (Arecaceae), just a different species — Cocos nucifera. The scientific name of the buri palm is Corypha elata Roxb.
