IBANAG

The Ibanag are an ethnolinguistic minority numbering a little more than half a million people. One of the largest ethnolinguistic minorities in the Philippines,they live in the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela and Nueva Vizcaya.

Spelling variations: Ybanag, Ybanak, Ibanak, Ibannág

The Ibanag or Ybanag language is spoken by about 500,000 speakers in two of the northeasternmost provinces of the Philippines, Isabela and Cagayan. It used to be one of the most dominant languages in that part of Luzon. Today, however, it is being displaced by the Ilocano language.
