‘How Old Are You?’ in Tagalog

The Filipino word for ‘age’ is edad.


Ilang taon ka na?
How old are you? (casual)
Do NOT use when addressing an older person.

Ilang taon na po kayo?
How old are you? (formal)
This second-person plural form is the most common way of
asking someone’s age in a formal situation.

Ilang taon na po sila?
How old are you? (very formal)
This third-person plural form is an extremely polite version.
Not common; might create confusion.

Bente anyos. 20 years old.
Trenta anyos. 30 years old.
Kwarenta anyos. 40 years old.
Singkwenta anyos. 50 years old.
