“Good Morning” in Tagalog

The Tagalog word for ‘morning’ is umaga.

The Tagalog word for “good” is mabuti, but in the expression “Good morning” the word maganda (beautiful) is used.

Magandang umaga sa iyo.
Good morning to you.
(when speaking to one person)

Magandang umaga sa inyo.
Goodmorning to you.
(when speaking to more than one person)

Magandang umaga sa inyong lahat.
Good morning to all of you.

Magandang umaga po sa inyo.
Good morning to you. (respectfully speaking to an older person or to more than one person; not so common — just use Magandang umaga po.)

Good morning to all of you.  (respectfully speaking to more than one person, to a crowd or an audience)

A common Filipino greeting is Magandang Araw!
It means “Beautiful Day!”
