You won’t find this word in standard dictionaries.
It’s a transliteration into Tagalog of the English word “giraffe.”
Most real Filipinos in the Philippines would simply say and spell the English word “giraffe” as is. The reason there is no native word for “giraffe” is because the animals are not native to the country.
For the hardheaded foreigners and Filipino Americans who insist on a native Tagalog equivalent for every “foreign” word, they can use dyirap to satisfy their unreasonable need for exoticism.
