‘Di┬áis short for Hindi, the Tagalog word for “No.”

An apostrophe is often placed before di to signify that it’s a shortened form. It is not to be used in formal writing.

Di ko kaya ‘to.
I can’t handle this.

Di ‘to para sa iyo.
This is not for you.

Di ko alam.
I dunno.

Ang ‘di ko alam ay ‘di pala siya ang erap ko.
What I didn’t know was that he wasn’t my old man.
