Filipino boxer who won the silver medal in flyweight boxing at the Tokyo Olympics.
Paalam was knocked down by Great Britain’s Galal Yafai in the first round. The Filipino won the third round on all five judges’ cards, but it was not enough as Yafai gained a 29-28 victory on four of the cards, with the other one in favor of Paalam by the same margin.
He is 23 years old and from Cagayan de Oro. He was born on July 16, 1998, in Talakag, Bukidnon.
Paalam is expected to compete in the Paris Olympics in 2024.
