Buwan ng Wika (Month of Language) is currently observed in the Philippines the entire month of August every year. It used to be celebrated just one week in August, during which it was called Linggo ng Wika (Week of Language).
* The national language of the Philippines is called Filipino, as proclaimed in the 1987 Constitution. During National Language Month, other languages of the Philippines are also celebrated.
