Amerikanong hilaw: “raw and uncooked” American

This term could refer to white people in general who are not “cooked and brown” like Filipinos are. It could also refer to the child of white American parents who was born and/or raised in the Philippines without becoming fully American, either by citizenship or by affiliation.

A Filipino who went to the United States and then returned to the Philippines acting American can also be called Amerikanong hilaw.

The great Filipino dream is to become an American.
