Make Words Plural in Tagalog
To make a word plural in Tagalog, use mga before it.
It is pronounced "ma-nga."
mga bata
children
mga tao
people
mga nanay
mothers
Ang daming mga bata.
So many kids!
Para sa mga nanay.
For the mothers.
Mga kababayan ko sila.
They are my compatriots.
Mga bata pa sila.
They're still young.
It is not always necessary to put mga before a word to make it plural.
This is especially the case when the number is understood from the context.
Maghugas ka ng kamay.
Wash your hands.
Kumakain ka ba ng saging?
Do you eat bananas?
